Hotaru Stool

Misaki Kiyuna

Furniture Design Hotaru Stool by Misaki Kiyuna Hotaru is a reading chair with integrated lighting. The light stand also serves as a backrest, and the light falls on the hands of the person seated. The lamp turns on and off in the dark in response to people nearby. The position of the lighting can be adjusted back and forth. Hotaru is assembled from four parts, a seat, feet, a stand and a lighting unit, without metal fittings. The laminated plywood of the seat is left visible to show the warmth of the wood. Placed beside a bed, Hotaru also works as a side table and a lamp. The design suits homes with little space.
