Putchair Stool

Alicia Rühr

Furniture Design Putchair Stool by Alicia Rühr Functionality is meant to satisfy a need, momentarily, when it is actually requested. Putchair elaborates this thought by acting as a possibility, rather than a solution. It can be formed into simple forms to support in diverse situations but being able to dissolve when not used. 216 black spheres form a nearly immaterial black mass. Being assembled, Putchair can be a side table, awkward object or simply a cubical stool. The project does not follow a distinctive formal language, its aesthetic is rather based on its materiality: squishy black rubber, spotted with Velcro dots.
