Furniture Design Light Shadow Bamboo Weave Communal Space Chair by Bingran Shen Light Shadow Bamboo Weave is a communal space chair made for public places. The circular seat combines a welded steel frame with hand woven bamboo strips. Bamboo was selected for its toughness, corrosion resistance and plasticity, and the weaving follows traditional Chinese methods. A light inside the seat is switched on by hand, and the light passes through the bamboo to create shadow patterns. A planted area on the top holds green plants that help clean the air. The chair measures 1250 by 1250 by 1900 millimetres.
